Can I Increase AutoDJ Music Storage?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade the music storage for your AutoDJ any time. Just login to the client area and click the add-on service feature. Choose how much music storage you need for your radio station. The new price will be added to your existing subscription plan. If you are renting a stream in Second Life or any other online virtual community, please contact our in-world support and they will upgrade your account for you.

Can I Increase The Listener Limit ?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your listener limits any time by logging into the client area. Click on the add-on services feature and choose how many listeners you need for your radio station. The price will be added to your existing subscription plan. If you are renting a stream in Second Life or any other online virtual community, please contact our in-world support and they will upgrade your account for you.

How Can I Contact Your Support ?

Support is available through our online contact form. You can also create support tickets in the client area if you have ordered a stream hosting plan from our website. If you rented your stream in Second Life or another online virtual community, you can contact our in-world rep. and they will be happy to help with your account.

How Do I Pay For My Stream ?

It depends on where you rented your stream from, our website: Dreamstream.it or one of our virtual stores.
If you rented from our website, please login to the client area where you can pay for your stream hosting service. You’ll also receive an email notification when your rent is due. You can also setup automatic recurring payments with PayPal on our website. Our online store accepts PayPal. If you rented your stream from one of our virtual stores, please visit your rental box in-world and right click it for payment options. The rental units at our virtual stores accept grid currency, some rental units also accept PayPal payments.

How Do Listeners Find Me?

When you rent a streaming solution, you’ll get access to your own Centova Cast radio panel. An advanced, web-based radio manager to manage your radio features online. You can login to your radio panel to find your stream URL. Give your stream URL to your listeners, or embed it in your website or blog, or web player. If you’re streaming in Second Life, OpenSim or Halcyon worlds, just add your stream URL to the Media Settings > Sounds tab for music on your land. Your Shoutcast stream URL will also play in most media players. Winamp, Windows Media Player,, QuickTime player etc. Contact us if you need help with anything.

What Is AutoDJ?

AutoDJ is a Source or Content Delivery System for SHOUTcast servers. It allows you to keep your SHOUTcast server online 24/7 without having to run a source (eg Winamp or SAM Broadcaster) from your computer. You can create playlists and upload your music files to AutoDJ and they’ll be played from the server, meaning you could switch your PC off as you don’t need any software running on your computer to create a 24/7 live music stream.

What Is Icecast?

Icecast is a streaming media project released as free software maintained by the Xiph.org Foundation. It also refers specifically to the server program which is part of the project. Icecast was created in December 1998 by Jack Moffitt and Barath Raghavan to provide an open-source audio streaming server that anyone could modify, use, and tinker with. Version 2, a ground-up rewrite aimed at multi-format support (initially targeting Ogg Vorbis) and scalability, was started in 2001 and released in January 2004.

What Is Shoutcast?

SHOUTcast DNAS is cross-platform proprietary software for streaming live media over the Internet. The software was developed by Nullsoft and is available free of charge. It allows digital audio content, primarily in MP3 or High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) format, to be broadcast to and from media player software, enabling the creation of Internet radio “stations”. The most common use of SHOUTcast is for creating or listening to Internet audio broadcasts; however, video streams exist as well. Some traditional radio stations also use SHOUTcast to extend their radio presence onto the Web.

What Software Do I Need?

You only need software on your computer if you plan on live streaming. Some of the most popular music programs for streaming over Shoutcast are: Sam Broadcaster, VirtualDJ, Mixxx, Radio Broadcaster, Nicecast and Edcast. If your using AutoDJ, you’ll create playlists online and upload your music files in your radio panel, your music is streamed from the server. So you don’t need any software running on your computer to have a 24/7 live stream.
